Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication for Industrial OEMs
Machine Shrouds for Industrial Equipment
Machine shrouds protect moving parts, contain debris, and support safety compliance on automation lines, CNC machines, and process equipment. They combine flat panels with formed edges, mounting flanges, and access doors while meeting the dimensional needs of the surrounding frame.
Sheet Metal Processes Used for Shrouds
Shrouds start as flat patterns cut on fiber lasers, then move to press brakes for accurate bends. Welded seams join panels where required, followed by hardware insertion and surface preparation. Secondary operations such as tapping, riveting, and powder coating complete the part before final inspection.

Manufacturing Capacity at Rapidsheetfab
Our 3,500 m² facility runs five fiber lasers and seven CNC press brakes sized for sheets up to 2000 × 4000 mm. This setup handles the larger panels typical of machine enclosures without splitting work across multiple vendors.
| Process | Max Capacity | Typical Tolerance |
|---|---|---|
| Fiber laser cutting | 2000 × 4000 mm, 25 mm steel | ±0.10 mm |
| CNC press brake | 230 T / 3000 mm | ±0.20–0.30 mm |
| CNC punching | Holes, louvers, forms | ±0.10–0.20 mm |
| Welding & assembly | Full assemblies | Per drawing |

Stocked Materials
Stainless grades SUS304, SUS316, and SUS430 are stocked alongside SPCC, Q235, 5052 aluminum, and C1100 copper. Parts leave the shop ready for customer-specified finishes supplied through qualified partners.
From Prototype to Repeat Orders
Customers often begin with one or two shrouds for fit checks. Once approved, the same drawings move into batches of 10–50 units or scheduled releases. This continuity removes the need to requalify a new supplier when volumes increase.

When Machine Shrouds Need Welding or Hardware
Shrouds that include welded frames, PEM fasteners, or access panels benefit from single-source handling. In-house cutting, bending, and insertion keep hole locations consistent with the weldment, reducing rework at final assembly.
Documentation Supplied With Each Order
- ✓ Dimensional reports
- ✓ Material certificates
- ✓ First-article inspection records
