Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication

Enclosures & Cabinets

Rapidsheetfab delivers contract sheet metal fabrication for custom industrial enclosures, electrical housings, and modular equipment cabinets. From DFM engineering and raw stock processing to precision joining, integrated hardware, and surface treatments, we build rugged mechanical protection engineered precisely to your bill of materials and CAD specifications.

OEM & Industrial Systems

Engineered Sheet Metal Packaging for Mission-Critical Equipment

Industrial equipment enclosures require precise dimensional control to ensure proper ingress protection, internal component clearance, thermal ventilation, and structural rigidity. At Rapidsheetfab, our process integrates engineering evaluation with controlled sheet metal fabrication to eliminate fit-up interference and guarantee structural reliability.

01

DFM & Geometry Validation

Systematic review of flat patterns, bend radii allowances, fastener clearances, and thermal cutout locations before cutting begins.

02

Material Compatibility

Processing of cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized sheet, and aluminum alloys tailored to weight, corrosion, and shielding requirements.

03

Integrated Hardware

Installation of self-clinching nuts, standoffs, hinges, continuous gasketing channels, latches, and grounding studs for turn-key fitment.

04

Scalable Batch Integrity

Calibrated tooling and setup documentation ensure first-article prototypes seamlessly match full-rate recurring production runs.

Step-by-Step Execution

Comprehensive Enclosure Manufacturing Lifecycle

Every cabinet, chassis, and housing moves through a documented, ten-stage production sequence to safeguard design intent, geometric accuracy, and aesthetic standard.

PHASE 01

Drawing & Specification Review

Comprehensive evaluation of customer 3D models (STEP/IGES) and 2D engineering prints to confirm critical datums, interface cutouts, and fabrication feasibility.

PHASE 02

Material Selection & Staging

Procurement and verification of cold-rolled steel, galvanized sheet, 5052/6061 aluminum, or 304/316 stainless steel with mill test certificates on demand.

PHASE 03

High-Precision Cutting

Laser cutting and CNC punching of exterior panels, louvers, connector patterns, and bracket blanks with minimal heat distortion and burr-free edges.

PHASE 04

CNC Press Brake Forming

Precision bending using segmented tooling for complex returns, flange seams, and door frames, maintaining angular precision across extended lengths.

PHASE 05

Welding & Structural Joining

TIG, MIG, and resistance spot welding for seamless exterior corner joints, internal stiffening channels, and leak-resistant seams, followed by weld grinding.

PHASE 06

Hardware Insertion & Fasteners

Pneumatic and hydraulic insertion of self-clinching studs, captive fasteners, threaded nuts, blind rivets, and grounding lugs before coating.

PHASE 07

Finishing Coordination

Pretreatment, degreasing, and industrial surface finishing including durable powder coating, wet spray, anodizing, or passivating to customer specification.

PHASE 08

Mechanical Pre-Assembly

Subassembly integration of doors, quarter-turn latches, continuous hinges, window panes, DIN rails, and EMI/environmental foam or silicone gaskets.

PHASE 09

Quality Assurance & Fit Check

Verification of mechanical squareness, hinge action, latch engagement, coating thickness, and critical dimensional tolerances against production drawings.

Production Continuity

From First-Article Prototype to Repeat Batch Production

OEM product rollouts require rapid physical iterations followed by uncompromised repeatability. Rapidsheetfab organizes tooling files, press brake programming, weld jigs, and masking schemes systematically from day one.

  • ✓ Rapid Prototyping: Validate thermal dynamics, ergonomic door swing, and internal board layout with dedicated initial build runs.
  • ✓ Revision Control: Documented engineering change orders (ECO) with synchronized updates across blanking programs and bend programs.
  • ✓ Repeatability & Fixturing: Dedicated assembly fixtures and modular jigs for reliable door gap symmetry and repeatable seam sealing.
