Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication
Precision Structural Frames and Fabricated Assemblies
Structural frames form the backbone of industrial equipment, requiring precise geometry, high-strength welds, and consistent dimensional accuracy. At Rapidsheetfab, we specialize in the fabrication of custom frames, chassis, and welded assemblies for industrial OEMs, robotics, and machinery manufacturers.
We bridge the gap between initial NPI prototypes and reliable, repeatable production runs.
Structural Fabrication Capabilities
Our facility is equipped to handle complex frame structures that require more than simple cutting and bending. We utilize a range of processes to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic consistency.
Precision Cutting
Five fiber laser cutters handle plate and sheet thicknesses up to 25mm for carbon steel and 20mm for stainless, providing the edge quality necessary for flush-fit welding.
Welding Expertise
Our certified team performs TIG, MIG/MAG, and laser welding, focusing on penetration, heat management to minimize warping, and clean weld finishes suitable for powder coating.
Forming & Punching
Seven CNC press brakes (up to 230T) and CNC punching stations allow us to integrate mounting brackets, gussets, and stiffeners directly into the frame design.
Hardware & Assembly
We provide PEM hardware insertion, riveting, and M2–M12 tapping to create ready-to-mount assemblies, reducing your internal labor and secondary logistics.
Material Selection for Load-Bearing Applications
Selecting the correct material is the first step in ensuring frame stability and longevity. We maintain stock and established supply chains for a variety of industrial-grade materials.
Carbon Steel
Q235/Q355 and SPCC/CRS are standard for robust, cost-effective structural frames.
Stainless Steel
SUS304 and SUS316 are ideal for frames requiring corrosion resistance in medical, food, or laboratory environments.
Aluminum
5052 and 6061 provide high strength-to-weight ratios for mobile robotics and aerospace ground support equipment.
Quality Control for Welded Frames
Structural frames are often the foundation for sensitive electronics or precision motion systems. We apply a rigorous quality flow to every project, moving beyond visual inspection.
Dimensional Accuracy
We utilize CMM and 2.5D vision systems to verify frame squareness and critical mounting point tolerances (±0.10–0.20 mm for holes).
Standardized Documentation
Every project is supported by FAI (First Article Inspection) reports, material certificates, and dimensional verification reports upon request.
ISO 9001:2015 Standards
Our internal QMS ensures that every batch, from the first prototype to the 500th unit, adheres to the same quality parameters.
From NPI Prototype to Production
We support industrial OEMs throughout the product lifecycle. If your project is in the design phase, our engineering team provides DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback to optimize weld paths, reduce material waste, and improve structural rigidity.
We maintain a flexible manufacturing environment that accommodates one-piece prototypes through to regular production runs.

Managing Complex Assemblies
Many structural frames require finishing and sub-assembly before reaching your final production line. We coordinate a comprehensive range of surface treatments through our verified finishing partners.
- Industrial-grade powder coating and wet painting
- Passivation for stainless steel frames
- Plating and anodizing for corrosion and wear resistance
- Sandblasting for uniform texture before finishing
